| Thank You For A Great Summer! |

What a great summer it’s been – and how nice that we were able to do so much even with the financial struggles we all face. There was ‘Summer Splash day with bands, entertainment, games and lots of water play! A small group representing Foster Care Auxiliary was able to go to a ‘Let’s Make a Deal’ taping last month, which was a great and fun way to raise funds for our programs. Keep watching the program to see some from our group on the stage! (don’t know the date yet!) More recently with help from the community and Orangewood Children’s Foundation in obtaining backpacks, and a few members who volunteered all day stuffing the packs with supplies we were able to make sure our kids start the school year with new backpacks and school supplies.
Now as fall starts we are putting the final touches on the picnic, which will probably be over by the time you read this. Hopefully the 26th annual picnic was as good or better than the previous 25…be sure to let me know if you have any comments about the picnic or ideas for how we can improve the next one. Many thanks go to Orangewood Foundation, PALs, 44 Women, and those on the Foster Care Auxiliary Board for making the picnic happen.
The Foster Care Auxiliary is so proud that we were able to award scholarships to Ronnie Rodriguez and John Clift. How wonderful that the Foster Care Auxiliary can be part of these two young men’s future as they pursue further education to help them become the best they can be. Please continue to support our scholarships by donating to our scholarship fund. And please support Scottie’s Smokehouse BBQ who funds one of our scholarships through tips from their establishment.

3rd Annual Golf Tournament
November 5, Westridge Golf Club in La Habra
Would you like a free FCAOC membership or to have your 2011 membership fee refunded to you?
OR would you like an extra distribution day during November? All you need to do is sign up 4 golfers for our tournament. Great fun for the golfers and they get to contribute to a great cause while playing– plus you benefit! All golfers and those referring golfers will also be entered in a drawing for 2 Disney Passes.
