THE TREASURES OF NAPOLEON
October 11, 2009 - January 8, 2010 (10am-5pm) MUZEO
ADDRESS
241 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim, CA 92805
Overview
In this exhibition, the drama and splendor of an extraordinary period of time “come alive” for visitors of all ages. The goal of this unique exhibition is multi-fold. First, it allows visitors the opportunity to see beyond the “legend” of Napoléon Bonaparte to gain an understanding of this complex figure as a man. Second, it reveals how art and design played a key role in creating not only his Empire, but also his lasting place in history and in the public’s consciousness. Third, it provides a highly entertaining experience for the audience... allowing them to encounter the type of historic objects and art that can rarely be seen outside the halls of the great museums and palaces of Europe.

SCOTTIE'S SMOKEHOUSE BBQ!

Scottie’s Smokehouse BBQ funded 3 Foster Care Auxiliary Scholarships which were awarded at the Picnic to Monica Larisa Semeniuc, Guadalupe Valdivia, Steven Harvey  Owners:  Darren, Guiselle & Darcelle Scott (Foster/Adoptive Family in addition to restaurant owners) Darren’s grandfather (known as Scottie) had a restaurant called Scottie’s Malt Shop on North Main Street in Santa Ana back in 1935.

World War II brought the rationing of meat, eggs and cheese, and in 1943 the restaurant had to close.  Scottie refused to buy “black market” goods, which was what kept the other restaurants open. Darren (known as Scottie too) decided to re-established Scottie’s in Orange last year in August bringing back the family tradition and some old recipes as well as some new ones.

Not only is this the best BBQ around, but they give all tips toward our scholarship fund. They have been written up several times, and you can find the great reviews of their food all over the internet. Try it, you won’t be sorry!

Scottie's Smokehouse is located on the corner of Glassell and Collins in the city of Orange at 129 E. Collins Ave.  - just one mile north of the historic downtown plaza and Chapman University. www.scottiessmokehouse.com
