Holiday Gifts for your Children!
December 5th
3:00 – 6:00pm
I will be in front of Scottie’s Smokehouse BBQ on Dec 5, 3-6pm to distribute the gifts we obtained for our focus group members. Meet me there for this special Foster Care Auxiliary December Distribution.
While you are there, be sure to enter and order something from their delicious menu to eat in or take home to the family. Everyone; members, friends, relatives, neighbors, work associates, etc. can participate till 10pm! Help to make this a successful fundraiser by inviting everyone you know. You’ll be doing them a favor by introducing them to the best BBQ in town!
Scottie’s will be donating a portion of sales during these hours to FCAOC.

P.S. In case you didn’t know, 3 scholarships to former foster youth were funded this year by Scottie’s. Not only are the owners foster/adoptive parents, but they are committed to making a continuing difference in the lives of foster and former foster children.

| Time Out For Parents!! |

New Alternatives, Inc offers Time Out for Parents (TOPS) Respite Care Program
TOPS is a support service for foster families in Orange County and offers short term, voluntary foster care for a few hours to as long as 72 hours of overnight care. Children are cared for by TOPS provider licensed foster parents. There is a charge for respite/care services that is equal to the daily foster care reimbursement.

If you’d like to become a TOPS provider, contact Spring at the above number or email. This is a great opportunity for new foster parents to gain experience with children while helping other foster parents by providing needed ‘Time Out’ for them.

We’re going to start the new year with something new!
You have probably all noticed that purple box at the bottom of any email I send you. It’s directing you to the FosterCareAux Yahoo Groups site. http://groups.yahoo.com/
You will continue to get the newsletter emailed to you, but in 2010 all other mass correspondence that goes out to our Foster Care Auxiliary Group will be posted to this group site and you will be notified (if you choose) of the posting. This will make things much easier, and you’ll always know where to find the information!
