Members Only Distribution Days
December 1, a Saturday 9am-noon (pastry included)
December 3, a Monday 9am-noon
December 7, a Friday 11am-2pm (pastry included)

Pastry
continues to be available every Friday and Saturday (except distribution days when the pastry becomes part of the normal monthly distribution) during specific hours…you do need to confirm that you are coming for the pastry donation so that we can divide it evenly. Watch your email for the announcements and call or reply to the email if you can make the pick up time.

Please come in on Saturday, and Monday – December 1st and 3rd to check out the sale in the thrift store. Buck a pound for all clothing and bedding scarves, neckties, new clothing & Christmas wear excluded

Meetings and Upcoming Events:

December 6th Auction and SSA Dinner for Orange County Social Services Agency Foster Parents only. We have some interesting items to bid on that would make terrific gifts for many on your holiday gift list. You should have your invitation by now…your RSVP should be in.

Pictures with Santa and a store super sale, December 15, SATURDAY 10-noon
Foster Parent Members-Make an appointment to come and get a picture taken with Santa…extras can be obtained for a small fee. Friends, Family and other visitors can obtain a picture with Santa for a small fee also. Santa will be handing out gifts to Foster Parent Auxiliary Member Kids.

SELL TICKETS NOW TO BE ABLE TO GO FOR FREE!!!
February 2, Anaheim Arsenals BasketBall Game at Anaheim Convention Center 7:30 pm.
The kids will get to meet the players, participate in on court activities during half time and have a great time. Members will be given a ticket for each one they sell....sell to your neighbors, friends, relatives and get enough tickets for your whole family to go for free! Everyone is welcome! Start getting your orders for tickets now – they would make great holiday gifts!

Pay What You Will at South Coast Repertory for Holiday Play

My husband and I have seen La Posada Magica at South Coast Repertory with our kids a few years ago and found it to be a wonderful holiday experience for the whole family. My assistant, Tina, just informed me that South Coast Repertory has a ‘Pay What You Will’ day for the play, and upon further investigation it seems that they have many ‘pay what you will’ opportunities for other plays as well. It appears that you need to show up at the box office by 10am to purchase a limited number of tickets for the December 7th show on the same day at 7:45pm. There is a $10 suggestion with a $7 minimum for the tickets usually costing at least twice that amount.

Carl’s JR Fundraising

We have a fresh supply of Carl’s JR coupon books for sale at the store and in our center. These booklets have over $45 of savings and pay for their small $5 cost usually the first time used. They make great stocking stuffers and small gifts. Help support the Foster Care Auxiliary by purchasing some for those on your holiday list.

Baby Gear Loaner Program

Did you know that we have a baby gear loaner program?
We have a large assortment of items you might need for your infant/toddler foster placement…all available for an Auxiliary Member who is an Orange County Licensed Foster Parent with an active foster placement in need. These items are available to borrow for up to six months at a time. Call to make an appointment to see what is available before you buy your next piece of baby equipment.

As they holidays approach…
I feel a bit overwhelmed and wonder many times which waiting project to tackle first. No matter which item I choose to give my attention to, it always leaves me feeling that I am neglecting something else. This newsletter is one of the items that I would love to put on the bottom of my list. (or, maybe there is someone else out there wanting to take over?) If you found this newsletter useful would you mind sending an email to FosterCareAux@yahoo.com to let me know…you can just put ‘newsletter’ in the subject line if you think it is something that needs to be continued, but do feel free to give other input too, such as which items you find useful.

In closing I’d like to ask if you might know someone who would like to make a holiday contribution to Foster Care Auxiliary of Orange County. I’d be happy to fully explain our program and services and will send a letter if you provide me with interested parties addresses. Many persons are looking for a 501c3 charity like ours near the end of the year to contribute to. Help spread the word of the good things our organization does and how it impacts your foster family.
